The Rotary Club of D'Entrecasteaux/Channel  located south of Hobart known as the Channel area.

It is a small but active club which aims to preserve the ideals of Rotary.

Normal weekly meetings have a structure and are chaired by our Sergeant At Arms. The meetings have time for fellowship; Directors’ Reports; President’s Time; general business; a raffle; and a Sergeant’s session.

We also have interesting guest speakers attend and we organise vocational visits to learn about other businesses and aspects of our community.

The Rotary Club of D'Entrecasteaux/Channel has three main avenues for raising funds to help in providing assistance for local community projects, State projects,  as well as International projects.

These three major fundraisers are regular BBQs at Clennett’s Mitre 10 Kingston, Channel Fun Day in Margate in April; and the sausage sizzle at the Middleton fair in February.

The Club is structured with a President (who holds office for one year) a President Elect (the incoming President), Immediate Past President, Secretary, Treasurer, Club Service Director, Vocational/New Generations Service Director, Community Service Director and International Service Director. These people are nominated and elected each year and form the Club’s Board. The Board meets on a monthly basis and is responsible for Club governance, finance, and decision-making as required. The Club operates in a very transparent manner and all members are privy to the workings of the Club’s finances and are able to participate in its budgeting and programming process.
